PRESCHOOL MEETS THERAPY

Is your child a good fit?

  • • Can engage in therapy activities safely and effectively without constant one-on-one supervision.

    • Does not have behavioral challenges that disrupt the group or pose safety concerns for others.

  • • Regular attendance is expected; poor attendance in prior therapy or planned absences of more than 25% may affect eligibility.

  • Must qualify for skilled therapy services (PT, OT, and/or SLP) aligned with the group’s focus.

    • Has therapy goals that match the group’s overall objectives.

    • Current skill level is similar to that of other group participants.

    • Has progressed in individual therapy and now benefits from peer interaction to further develop skills.

  • • If your child qualifies for school-based services, those should be the primary option, with individual therapy supplementing as needed.

    • If your child is non-speaking and not yet able to communicate effectively via an AAC device, individual therapy may be a better first step before preschool.
